Coffee With D Movie Review

1.) Rating: 1.5/ 5. Review by Surabhi Redkar on Koimoi.com

Sunil Grover has fans but trust me this film will certainly disappoint them. Give this one a miss, you can wait to spend on the next two big releases. Coffee With D is strictly avoidable. Don’t waste your money on this one!

2.) Rating: 1.5/ 5. Review by Reza Noorani by Times of India

It could have been good film, but the undoing of Coffee With D is its post-production. The film is let down by shoddy editing and a bad dubbing job where entire sentences are muted and out of sync. A story that has potential is ruined by poor execution that distracts you from the plot.

3.) Rating: 3/5. Review by Anusha Iyengar on BollywoodLife

Sunil Grover seemed awkward and blank in a few romantic scenes. Since we are used to seeing him be funny most of the times, it is kind of unsettling to see him be serious or romantic, for that matter. The second half of the film kept dragging on and the makers tried to make it look patriotic but it lacked the emotions. The writing could have been much better. Zakir Hussain was the only actor holding the fort and keeping us hooked to the screen. The plot was quite interesting but the performances didn’t match up to it. There is a scene where Parul (Anjana Sukhani) calls Arnab to remind him of the oath that they took as journalists. A strong scene performed poorly, it lacked the impact that it could have created.

4.) Rating: 2/5. Review by Subhash K Jha on NDTV Movies

Coffee With D is like an unfinished unpolished version of what could have been a rollicking run-in into a ruminative session between Indian’s biggest fugitive and loudest journalist. If only it had allowed more leg-space to lunge in the lap of the ludicrous.

What do we learn about Dawood, thanks to ‘Coffee With D’? That he diverted the Malaysian Airline Flight 370, because he was travelling from KL to Karachi, but the flight itself was headed to Beijing. He just landed the plane in his house, and the missing passengers are now his servants. Eh? This is not even funny.
